Even if they are strict disciplinarians who never failed to scold, reprimand and correct us in different ways whenever we get out of line and stray away from the right direction, my parents gave everything that we need and so much more to help us find our way in this world and get us where we are today. Aside from teaching us right from wrong, providing a roof over our heads and making sure that we are safe and sound from the dangers of the outside world all the time, they also sent us to great schools because they know for a fact that formal education under the tutelage of intelligent teachers and professors will help us stand on our own feet and survive in the future when we finally embark on our journey towards self-discovery, fulfilment and redemption. While my brothers and sisters chose conventional careers because they want to become lawyers fighting for truth and justice, doctors saving lives of countless patients in hospitals as well as businessmen raking in some serious dough, I chose the field of computer science and information technology because this is where I shine and excel.
And that is the reason why when I finally graduate and leave the four walls of the academe, I want to join the ranks of the top IT companies in the Philippines because I believe that it is my destiny to pursue my passion, carve my name in history and prove to everyone that I have what it takes to ascend all the way to the top of my chosen career. But when it comes to the field of information technology and computer science, I need more than just book knowledge and scholastic wisdom that I harnessed in school because the top companies out there are looking for people who can think on their feet, learn on the fly and develop original and innovative solutions to solve the problems that they face each and every day. With that said, I have a long and winding road ahead and my work is cut out for me but I will never give up and accept defeat because quitting is never an option since I want to make my parents proud of all my achievements.
Hence, I opted to apply for a good company through an IT staff augmentation service. First and foremost, I need to accept the fact that I am far from perfect and I do not have all the answers because I am still a work in progress but instead of feeling down and dejected, I use this as the fuel to fire up my passion to become better with each passing day.
I also make it a point to brainstorm with my colleagues and other experts in the field as I engage in meaningful discussions and exchange of ideas in forums, message boards and webinars because this will help me answer some nagging questions and shed light on topics that are quite difficult to comprehend. Last but certainly not the least, instead of taking everything so seriously and burning both ends of the candle at the same time so to speak, I need to learn how to enjoy my career because this will enable me to master the proverbial tools of the trade.
